Halal is often used in reference to food and drinks that are permissible for Muslims to eat or drink under Islamic law. Muslims are not allowed to consume blood, alcohol, pork and by-products, as well as improperly slaughtered animals. According to Islamic Da’wah Council of the Philippines, these are the general conditions for food to be Halal:
-Does not contain any component or raw materials from animals that are not Halal -Does not contain any ingredient that is not Halal -During preparation, processing or manufacturing, the equipment used must not be contaminated by the product with ingredients which are not Halal
