According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the most common bacteria that cause food poisoning are Salmonella, Clostridium perfringens, and Campylobacter. Symptoms of food poisoning could range from stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea to kidney failure or even death. CDC estimates that approximately 76 million people become ill from pathogens in food each year in the United States; of those, approximately 5,000 die. In the Philippines, there had been numerous reported cases of food poisoning. According to National Statistical Coordination Board, there has been approximately an average of 224 reported cases of food poisoning per year for the last ten years.
