Follow these food safety tips in washing your fruits and vegetables:
Use two clean, sanitized sinks or two clean, sanitized food tubs in the sink for washing.
Wash all fruits and vegetables in cold waterin the first sink using a vegetable brush if appropriate. Agitate for one minute. Then, wash or rinse in the second sink, using a colander and flowing water to flush the fruits and vegetables. In order to control rot, remove all excess water and air dry the fruits and vegetables in thin layers in the refrigerator, or use within two hours.
