“Empowered Sanitation Inspectors, the key towards building a Healthy Nation” was the theme of this year's National Planning, Consultative Seminar and Conference on Environmental Health, Safe Water and Sustainable Sanitation organized by the League of Sanitation Inspector of the Philippines, Inc. (LSIPI). This was the first in-person event of the organization since the pandemic started. Held last September 21-22 at the HRDC Hall in Leyte Normal University, the event was attended by over 200 sanitary inspectors from different regions. Glenwood Technologies International Inc. (GTI) took part in the event as one of its sponsors and presenters. Among the highlights of the event was the technical discussion on the ‘Control of Food and Water Borne Diseases in Times of Pandemic and Climate Change,’ which was conducted by GTI’s Technical Services Group Associate, Glenn Gementiza, the Department of Health's discussion on ‘Updated Strategies on Vector Control Program for Dengue and Malaria and the Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic in its Implements,’ and the election of a new set of officers among others. The convention aims to provide a venue for the inspectors to collaborate, discuss, and update their knowledge on the industry status, deal with priority issues, share their best practices in their own respective areas, and address recent and potential challenges for the sector.
Delegates visited GTI's booth and were updated on the latest technologies on water quality testing and hygiene and sanitation monitoring.
Instrumental to the event's success was the warm and unwavering support of our sanitary inspectors - GTI thanks all delegates for making this possible. We hope to see you in the next national conference, food safety ambassadors!
