Ms. Karen Roscom, MFSA is the Chief Science Research Specialist of the Standards Development Division at the Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards. She has a decade-long experience in developing and promoting agriculture and fishery product standards and has spent several years teaching food safety to small and medium scale enterprises, government, and academe. Providing technical support to local government agencies, Ms. Roscom also coordinates with international bodies such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)/World Health Organization (WHO), Food Standards Australia-New Zealand (FSANZ), US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and European Union with their technical cooperation projects and missions.
Dr. Pedro "Pete" Dumaraos, Jr. is the Food Safety National Lead Coordinator of the Department of Agriculture (DA)'s Regulations Office. He has spearheaded the development of the first DA Food Safety Strategic Plan for 2019-2023 and has been instrumental in the organization of the DA Food Safety Focal Group. Initiating the conduct of food safety webinars amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Pete is a notable project management and social development practitioner on the agriculture and fishery sector's programs and projects.
